The scene depicts the nobility of this world congregating (perhaps they were summoned) at the gore ridden docks. I tried adding some props like barrels and containers but the image is plagued with stuff as is - they were taking away from the image more than adding to it. Like, the banners with the beast icon already drive the eye away from the main character.

There is a mild disturbance in the space because the alien is using controling the mind of this planet's population. This adds to the whole vibe and the atmosphere of the painting, otherwise I think it would be too blank. The lighting also focuses the eye on the hell-spawn. The setting without it would be too dark and shallow.

When choosing a colour for the scene and the energy disturbance, I wanted to depict how menacing the whole concept is. Blue wouldn't really work as it is usually associated with calmness and stability. I associate demons with primal aggression and red/orange is the perfect colour for that.
