Archaeologists find a Buddhist shrine dating from 6th century B.C Discovery suggests the earliest Buddhist temple at the. Located in Lumbini pilgrimage centre of Nepal it is the legendary place where the Buddha came into life. Radiocarbon dating has allowed archeologists to date the Age of the shrines. Outside scholars applauded finding but warned against assuming the site hastily as the oldest discovered Buddhist temple without any further examination. The great controversy had been about when the Buddha lived and now we have a monument structure, said Robin Coningham of Durham University the lead author of the discovery study.
